Enhanced Cares Services
Private Physiotherapy, Massage Therapy, and Nursing Foot Care
In addition to providing physiotherapy services to residents of our Long Term Care Homes and Retirement Homes, pt Health offers additional “Enhanced Care” Services available to residents as well as staff members. Enhanced Care Services include: private physiotherapy, massage therapy, and nursing foot care.
Additional Physiotherapy
Residents:
pt Health offers additional Physiotherapy treatment should residents require treatment in addition to the 150 visits afforded them through OHIP. These visits are provided on a fee for service basis per treatment. All administrative details including billing, tax receipts and on-going treatment progress reports for this program are managed by pt Health staff. Residents may qualify for reimbursement from their extended health insurance for the cost of enhanced care.
Staff:
pt Health offers staff members of each home the opportunity to have a Registered Physiotherapist and physiotherapy assistant treat their musculoskeletal injuries or conditions. Assessments and treatments are carried out with strict confidentiality. This program provides staff with the chance to be assessed right away after a recent trauma or work related injury. Staff also benefit from the convenience of having treatment at their work site. Our physiotherapists are trained and certified to perform ergonomic assessments and can assess office environments to identify possible factors contributing to work related musculoskeletal disorders. Registered Massage Therapy
pt Health Registered Massage Therapists are available to provide treatment on a fee for service basis for the residents and facility staff. All our massage therapists are registered with their governing body and have experience with senior clientele. Typical massage therapy rates range from $25 (plus HST) to $70 (plus HST) per treatment. Residents may qualify for reimbursement from their extended health insurance for the cost of massage therapy. Staff may request billing directly through their extended health insurance.

Nursing Foot Care
Foot Care services is available for residents on a fee for service basis. Nurses are Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario and completed advanced certification. Routine foot care is important to help decrease pain; identify early signs of diabetes, arthritis, circulation problems; prevent serious infections/complications; maintain healthy feet which are important for proper balance and keep the resident active which strengthens bones and muscles and can help prevent falls. Treatment is typically delivered once every six weeks at a cost of $30 for an initial assessment and $25 per treatment.
